I've read thru the forums and noticed this has been answered...somewhat. Apparently it can be done but only played on a DVD player. Is there anyway to burn music onto a DVD-R and play it on my computer, or even car, home audio system? Or is that completly out of the question.
I am VERY new to this board and any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If your computer, car, and home audio support dvd-rom then you can burn music to dvd-r using Nero... or other programs.

You need to be a bit more specific.. Are you trying to put a bunch of MP3's onto a DVD and play them back? Your computer will play back DVD's with MP3's just fine. Most home settop dvd players will not support MP3's burned to DVD. As for car stereo's I have no idea on that one. I dont have one.. Oh and welcome to our forum!

Sorry if i seem vague. What I'd like to do is put TONS (as much as possible) of music in any type of file, i.e. wav, mp3, etc, and burn those songs onto a DVD-R and play them back on a computer or even a car stereo. From what I've found via online its not really possible to play it in the car UNLESS I have a dvd player, which i don't. Not to mention it would be nice to play at home in CD player/Stereo but from what I am hearing thats not possible.
So, my only option is that of playing it on regular cd-rom device - correct?
I've found one program entitled "Audio DVD Creator" which states it can "put several (5-6)Audio CD's on one DVD with perfect audio quality.

you need somthing that reads dvd's to be able to play dvd's. You can't put a dvd in a cd player and expect it to play. Whole different ballgame.

Try putting all mp3 and wav ona regular cd-r, you get hours and hours that way also.

I can put like maybe an hour and 1/2 at most of mp3's but thats the limit. Are you saying if i convert to "wav" files then i would be able to get more songs on a cd-r?

Keep adding tracks until your filled up to 700mb.
most mp3 average around 4mb so keep going.

80min is for standard recording, no compression

if you use Nero and get the mp3 pro plugin ,you be able to fit even more mp3's on blank cdr than the regular mp3 format . i have put more than 200 songs on a blank cdr using the mp3 pro plugin from Nero . not all players will play mp3 pro files so make sure yours will before you buy the plugin . the sound quality is about as good as the regular mp3 format . hope this helps you with your question .

Sorta off topic here, I thought you might like to know.. A modded PS2 will play MP3's burned to a DVD.. As many as you can fit.

As far as I know, You need a dvd burner.

Other than that, you can experiment and see if it's true.
