I've read thru the forums and noticed this has been answered...somewhat. Apparently it can be done but only played on a DVD player. Is there anyway to burn music onto a DVD-R and play it on my computer, or even car, home audio system?
My mp3 library is backed up to dvd+r's. My dvd+r's play on my pc,home dvd player with surround sound speaker untits, but not car stereo. As far as my dvd+r(mp3's) backup playing on a PS2, I would "think" it would as my dvd movie backups play on PS2's just fine :)

I do have a cd burner...and i'm not saying its possible to fit a dvd onto a cd rather that its a probability.
I can understand how a dvd(+-) will work only in dvd players but since they were mp3's I was just wondering if it was a possibility thats all.
Looks like I need a dvd burner to try this out right?

Yes and the more "afforadble and reliable" dvd burners are Lite-ON. The better dvd burner is the Plextors but more expensive :)

Lite-On 12X DVD±RW Drive at newegg for 75.00

Sorry if I missunderstood your question or answerd wrong. :)

Yes you can put music on a dvd- or+ R using a dvd burner.

owning a dvd burner opens so many doors of burning knowledge.

post back and give an update

You can get the Pioneer DVR-108 Dual Layer 16x OEM for 95.00 bucks at newegg. I can vouch for Lite-ON drives that the manufacturer provides frequent firmware updates for all their roms and as far as I know, a Lite-ON dvd drive can backup Safedisc 3.10(Call Of Duty), SecUROM 4.85(Max Payne 2). I have no clue what the Lite-ON 12x dvd burner can do concerning backups of Safedisc or SecuROM (newer versions) nor the Pioneer DVR-108

that sound like a good deal for backing up dvd-+r, cd-r, mp3, and gaming files for pc, ps2, xbox.

Adjust to which dvd buner you wanna buy to suit your everyday burning.

IF you are using Nero Burning Rom all versions as far as I know, when you go to burn your MP3's Nero will automatically convert them to WAV or CDA files for you. If you want to burn MP3's to a CD-R disc, you have to select the option that will burn the MP3's as is and that is how you can put 140 mp3's on one 700mb disc. WAV file are 10 times larger than MP3's.
If you are into as pure sounding music you can get in PC compatible formats, DO not record anything in MP3 format. MP3 is probably the worse thing you can do to destroy a perfectly good song Once a WAV CDA, and other uncompressed music formats are compressed into a MP3, that music will never sound as good as it did before. Any Sound engineer will tell you never convert to an mp3 unless you are one finished mastering it and you do not care about the sound quality as much as being able to store many of them on one disk.
If you use listening software that trains your ears how to listen better, you can hear the difference between a MP3 and a WAV file. There is a big difference, and once you train your ear, whenever you hear a MP3 it will irritate the hell out of you.

Mp3 sounds as good to me as a wav. Yes its compressed and I am no sound engineer but I do know sound since I spinn. thier is nothing wrong with mp3's. If your a sound engineer then you can bad mouth mp3 all day since thier sound HAS to be pefect.

Take a poll and ask if anybody if hears the big difference.
