i've only just started using dvd shrink and nero to back-up my dvd's.when i play them on my pc they work fine but if i try them on my stand alone dvd player,it says no disc.in the begining i tried all types of dvd's(e.g. -r,-rw,+r,+rw)until i found which one plays on my stand alone player(+rw).having been recently given some +r discs,is there any way of fooling my dvd player into playing these discs or do i give them to someone else and carry on using only +rw.

A couple of questions to enable us to help you better

1. Make and model of your DVD burner

2. Make and model of your stand- alone player

You can look up your player's compatibility here

cheers chthomson,i tried the videohelp website and found my dvd player listed.guess what? the only discs it wont read are +r.thanks for helping,now i can sell the +r discs to someone at work who can use them.many thanks once again.
