I use alcohol 120% to burn psx games, so far i have only burnt psx games as i didnt have any dvd disks.
I got some and tried to burn, but when i click 'start' i get an error come up saying 'please insert blank disc' and it also says something like 'reading disc' then says 'blank disc' but i can't click on ok, it's not there.. all i can click on is 'cancel' and if i do im back on the bit where it says 'start' and if i press that, im back with that error.. any ideas? =(

this might help you out

Q) How do I burn backups?
A) Get DVD Decrypter (free) and open it (make sure all other programs are closed and that you won't need to use your PC during the reading or burning process). Put your original in your DVD drive. Got to Mode > ISO > Read. Be careful not to go to IFO and not ISO on accident. Select the Source (The drive the DVD is in) and a Destination (the place on your Hard Drive where the temporary file will be saved). Check the right side with all the disc information and make sure it says "Number of Layers: 1" and not "Number of Layers: 2" (if it says 2, then you cannot burn without splitting the images which is out of the scope of this FAQ page). If it says 1, then click on the DVD to Hard Drive button. When the DVD is done Reading, take out the original and put in a blank DVD-R or DVD+R(if your PS2 can read it). Go to Mode > ISO > Write. Browse for your .iso file that you just made (the .mds is there incase you want to burn with another program than needs it, DVD Decrypter does not). Make sure the Destination is the DVD Drive with the blank DVD in it. Have Test Mode unchecked and BURN-Proof checked. Under Settings, have your Write speed set at 1x or the lowest you can possibly go. Click the Hard Drive to DVD button. Remember not to use your Computer while DVD Decrypter is burning

Select the Source (The drive the DVD is in) and a Destination (the place on your Hard Drive where the temporary file will be saved). << my bin/cue file is on my computer, not on CD.. how do i overcome this :(

that is where the temporary file is stored. it will create an ISO image on your harddrive and then you must burn that image to your blank dvd.

are you trying burn an image already on your hard drive to a blank DVD?

dvd format:MODE1/2040

Continue anyway?)

but i continued anyway..

loaded AR2, start game without cheats > 'insert game and press X' so i done the swap, inserted the game and it made some noises like it was having difficulty to read but it stayed on the AR2 screen.. any ideas? :( :(

If you get a bin, cue file you burn the cue file.

PSX is are not dvd based game, they are cd based games's so try setting your AL120 to Playstion 1 not Playstation 2 that's why your getting that error.

If that doesn't work well go from there.

what other programs do you have, what game are you trying to burn, what settings are you using with what program.

I will ask these questions if you still can't get nothing to burn.
