it depends, if it needs to be compressed to fit on dvd-r, you need to run shrink after it. if it will fit without compression, you can just use dvd decrypter in mode-iso-read, mode-iso-write.

I'm actually trying to back-up my Sopranos aswell and got the same eroor message. With DVD Shrink it appears to give out the error since the DVD is protected.

I also have DVD Decrypter but the file on the DVD is way over 4.36GB ... am I to split this into two files? If so ... can you help a newbie out?

Hi all. :)

Alki, simply use DVD Decrypter to rip all the files, as described in the following guide...
http://www.dvdshrink.info/dvd-decrypter.php
...then DVD Shrink, using either "Open Files" or its Reauthor mode. ;)

For all of you getting "Copy Protection" type errors, try unchecking "Enable burning with Nero" in the DVD Shrink "Edit >> preferences >> File I/O" menu.
Another option would be for you to use AnyDVD, or DVD43 (free).
