Hi, I'm a total newbie with copying DVD's and I seem to have perfected the art of copying a DVD, but I'm quickly losing valuable disk space.

I'm using DVD Decrypter to decrypt, DVD2one to shrink and then CopyToDVD to burn.

I'm deleting the files that DVD Decrytpter creates and also the files DVD2one creates, but there are files being stored, (somewhere) on my HDD which I cannot find, (which I presume CopyToDVD is creating).

Does anyone know where these files are or does anyone know what files to look for so I can delete them?

I hope this makes sense and thanks in advance for any replies.

Cheers, Mike.

mjdicko, are you using Norton Systemworks by any chance?
If yes, the files probably end-up in the Norton protected recycle bin. ;)

Yeah, using Norton, but I THINK I've deleted them, (unless they are stored in another place).

Ignored the M/s warning, And saw files and folders uninitiated by M/S??

yeah, tried disk clean up, not that either.

The files must be stored somewhere, and I can't find them!

Anyone know where they're kept?

I noticed the same thing on mine yesterday and assume they are being kept in the "Recycler" but don't recall where to find the "Recycler" folder on the HD?

Have you searched your hard drives for any .VOB .IFO .BUP .ISO files?

System Restore can sometimes take up a lot of drive space. Right click on My Computer and select Properties. On the System Restore tab you can turn it off. Reboot your computer and see if that gets back that space. You will probably then want to turn it back on and reboot again. You can also adjust the System Restore settings for how much disk space is used there.

If you have GoBack it can also use disk space like System Restore. You can free up space with that program in the same way. Disable and reboot. Then enable and reboot. You can also adjust the Goback settings for how much space is used.
