CD-R based back up problem

Hey i am trying to back up my game called Crash Bandicoot the Wrath of cortex. I tried reading the image at 1x and then I burned it at 4x (that was the lowest) and then it loads perfectly in the begining and lets me load my profile fine, but when I warp into alevel it says loading and then after a while only a black screen comes up. Does anyone know what the probelm is??? By the way the cd-R was a Memorex. Thank you for your help!
