audio problems with joined avis

I joined 2 avi files with virtual dub. I had the audio and the video on direct stream copy. When finished I played the movie the audio was ok for about half an hour and then it stops totally for the remainder of the movie. Can anybody help me please?

Also after another look I noticed that it was playing the audio from a different part of the movie to where the video was at.
