You need to download dvd2xbox from somewhwere. Ftp it over to your xbox in the folder you want it in, then run the program with your game in and press the button to install it onto your hard drive.

Bare in mind that if you have the stock hard drive in then you wont be able to store many games eg 2 or 3 games.

Yo, Hi guys, i am a newbie at X-box...
Here in Abu Dhabi, i bought an X-box crystal pack.
When I turn It on, during that small movie thing, on the top left side it says Evo X...
Does that mean I have the Evo X mod chip?
Newayz, i Downloaded Dvd2X-box or what ever its name is, put in on a CD-R and put it in my X-box... It says that the disc is damiged or something...
HOw do i install that prog on my X-box. I don't anyything installed in it. I wanna be able to put an X-box game or a dvd into the drive and copy it to my harddrive. THANKS!

johnsengu, sounds like you have a modchip as it says evo-x at the top.

Firstly you will need evolution-x program put onto your hard drive.(search around this forum on how to find it and burn it)

I would reccomend you get an auto installer.
Type slayers auto installer into google and download it then burn it to dvd-r or cd-rw.

Then copy the contents of the cd onto your hdd (it will have an option on screen to do this)

This will include the program dvd2xbox, so you then have to simply click 1 button when in this program to copy the game to the har drive.

BTW this will change your microsoft dashboard(the screen that appears when there is no disc in the dvd tray) to the evo-x one. This wont harm your xbox and you can do much more with it.

You can only store a few games on your hard drive though unless you install a bigger hard drive.

Good luck :-)

Right you should have the files, bios, skin, evox.ini, and default.xbe.

You will need to edit the evox.ini so open it and make sure it has the following:

FTP=YES
SetupNetwork=YES

[Misc]

AutoLaunchGames = No
AutoLaunchDVD = YES
DVDPlayer = "f:\apps\dvdx - DVD Player\default.xbe"
AutoLaunchAudio = No
#AudioPlayer = "c:\evoxdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard = "c:\msxboxdash.xbe"
UseFDrive = Yes
SkinName = matrix modded
IGR = No
UseItems = No
ScreenSaver = 5
#SkinName = Gears
Fahrenheit = Yes
ShadeLevel = 56

[IGR]

Start_Button = Yes
Back_Button = Yes
L_Trig = Yes
R_Trig = Yes
White_Button = No
Black_Button = No
A_Button = No
B_Button = No
X_Button = No
Y_Button = No

[Network]

SetupNetwork = Yes
StaticIP = No
Ip = 192.168.0.103
Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway = 192.168.0.1
DNS1 = 0.0.0.0
DNS2 = 0.0.0.0
SkipIfNoLink = No
SetupDelay = 10

[Clock]

JumpToMsDash = No
JumpIfNoLink = Yes
Use24 = Yes
SwapDate = No
SNTP_Server = 216.244.192.3

[FTP]

Enable = Yes
Password = xbox
IGR = No

[Telnet]

Enable = Yes

[RDTOOLS]

Enable = Yes
Name = xbox
IGR = No

Use a static ip if you are connecting with a crossover cable, if connecting with router/hub then set static ip to no.

After you have done this create an iso using craxtion or xiso or similar for your evo-x folder.

Then you can burn it to a cd-rw or dvd-r using nero or alcohol 120% or a burning program that will burn .iso.

Run it on your xbox and then connect your xbox to your pc via crossover or router/hub, Using flashfxp or simialr program.

Then you have to ftp the contents of the evo-x cd in your xbox to your pc then ftp the files you just ftp'd to your pc back onto your xbox hard drive.

Ps. you might want to ftp the whole of your xbox hard drive before you put on evo-x just incase something goes wrong.

Good luck.
