Hello (again!!)

I have a few questions that will hopefully solve my PS2 backup queries.

First of all here is my set-up:

Sony PS2 (v6)
FLIP TOP LID
SWAP MAGIC DVD 2.0 / SWAP MAGIC CD 3.0
---------------------------------------
Philips DVDRW824 (capable of both +/- reading/writing)
RiVision DVD-R's (which I was lead to believe are Ritek GO4's)
DVD Decryptor

Questions....

1. What media is best to use with my Philips, or in general?

2. What speed is best to burn a PS2 game on? (I was burning on 4x because the RiVision DVD-R's that I#ve got say 4x on them)

3. What program is best to use for backups?

4. Can you burn a game 'on the fly'?

5. Why everytime when I press X to load up a backup on my PS2 does the border go pink, but when I press [] about 70% of the time the game loads up?

6. Thank you!!

Cheers

Answers to your questions:

1. Ritek DVD-R GO4 4x are the best. I use them and have had no problems. The media that you are using is NOT Ritek. Someone steered you in the wrong direction.

2. Always burn at the lowest possible speed (1x). Even if you have 4x media, you can still burn at 1x. The only real problem with burning speeds is if you try to burn at a speed higher than the speed of your media. Like burning at 12x when you only have 4x blank media.

3. DVD Decryptor is the best.

4. I heard that you can ?burn on the fly?, but I have had no luck (I used Nero). It is recommended that you create the image on your hard drive first and then burn the image to your blank media (like what DVD Decryptor does).

5. If you burn the game and use your swap disc correctly, you should not get the pink border after pressing X.

I hope this helps.

Windows Xp
Sony?s Internal DVD±RW Drive DRU-530A
PS2 v5 Flip Top with SMD 2.0
Media: Ritek DVD-R G04 4x
DVD Decryptor, Nero & Alcohol 120%
CD/DVD Generator, ISO Buster
CD & DVD Loader

Thanks ASHMAN, thats wicked...

A couple of things...

1. Where can you buy RITEK DVD-R's from?? And how much??

2. What do you mean using Swap Magic correctly?? What I do is load up Swap Magic DVD 2.0, reset the console then when (and if!) the 'Insert Disc' screen comes up I open my FLIP TOP, exhange the SM DVD for my Backup and then shut the lid... then press X... most of the time it just goes PINK!! Sometimes I can get away with pressing [] and it may load up?

Thanks again
