Those Ritek Ridata DVD+R on newegg's website how do you know if they are Ricoh media or Ritek G01,G02,G03,G04 media i guess you dont know till you buy them or what..... anyone's input would be apprectiated

I purchased a 100 pack of Ridata x4 DVD+R from Newegg when they had the $10.00 rebate. I think it was on 8/15/04. They were in random stacking order a mix of RICHOJPN01 (x4) and RITEK R03 (x8) Newegg number-DVD+R RIDATA DRD+474-RDCB100 100PK

The 4X RiDATA -R will be G04 and the 4X RiDATA +R will be RICOHJPNR01.
I'vew bought my fair share of both flavors from newegg and they've all ID'ed as such :)

I didn't see any 100 spindles either but you can always buy two 50's :)
I bought my most recent 100 spindle of G04 from http://www.rima.com . It's a great shop to deal with.

Last question.... What is the diffrence in the red pack vs the purple pack. Looks like new egg has them both. Also it seems like most people in here reccomend the G04's and the feed back in new egg is only 2 people but the feedback on the ritek +r's is like 160 good reviews.

I've used both the ritek dvd-r (media code ritekg04) and the ritek dvd+r (media code ricohjpnr01 02). I prefer the +r because 1) I can set the booktype to dvd-rom 2) lite-on's prefer dvd+r media. The quality of the g04's is starting to vary a little from batch to batch. Make sure you buy ridata (branded) and you should be ok.

I just received from Newegg.com the 100 pack of Ritek 4x dvd+r. No coasters so far. My next purchase will be the Ritek 8x media. I have two questions.
Would the Ritek 8x media have the same quality as the Ritek 4x?
It was mentioned that -R and -RW is and always will be a more popular format. More manufactured dvd players will accept the -r format. Is this true?
