Pioneer 108 and Help Needed pls

Hi there,

I've just installed a Pioneer 108 drive on my win xp sp2 amd 2200+ system. 512 ram.

I thought installing this drive would allow me to burn DVD's in around 5 - 8 minutes but most dvd's are still taking me around the same time as when I was using the 107D drive.

Have I done anything wrong as far as types of cables I'm using or any advice or is it just wishfull thinking that I should be able to burn faster.

Also, what would you recommend as a good choice of - media for this drive.

The drive will only burn as fast as the media is rated at. I wouldn't burn any dvd movies at anything over 8x and only with top quality media. Too much chance of burn errors. Total times depend on many things working together and length of the original movie. Also some drives come locked at 2x rip speed from the factory. So if you are ripping with the burner drive you might want to do a speed test to see where you are at.
I only use Ritek grade A media.
