Im using ridata cd's and i have the evox chip, it's not reading the disc at all, i know this may sound stupid, but is it because i'm using cd's? can the x-box read a game off a cd? Because i can't burn it to a dvd as it's a cd iso file.

You cant burn xbox games like that.
Your pc wont read xbox games as they are backwards.
You need to have the original game in the xbox ftp it over to your pc via a crosover cable or router/hub then create an xiso of that image using craxtion or similar.
Then burn it onto good quility dvd-r using whatever program you use and your game should boot.
Look around at threads on here as there are loads of them, use the search button at the top and you will find loads of info.

I'm not trying to burn an original game, i'm trying to burn an x-box iso file which i downloaded earlier, and to be honest with you, all the hassle i'm having i think i might just stick to movies.

Well i've managed to burn one, i just opened the iso file with Nero and burned it off and it works perfect. The only problem i have now is the ones that come up as a cd iso, my x-box won't play cd's does anyone know how to convert them to dvd?

The xbox has to be modded in some way to play backups or homebrew software.

Yeah i've got the evox chip, and it will only play dvd-r's although some x-box's do play cd-r's, unfortunately mines quite old and does'nt. Does anyone know the best way to update my evox chip without spending too many £££'s?

Have you flashed your chip?
If you have then get a newer bios and flash it with that.

You need to extract the file with a program called winrar, that should leave you with an iso file, just right click on the iso and open it with Nero and just burn, then you SHOULD have a perfectly working game.

But there are a couple of rar files with the same name of ISOs too. Extracting the files will overwrite the previous extracted files. So i cant extract them into the same folder.
