I have DVDsrhink version 3.2. I am also using DVD43FREE. I am able to copy the files to my hardrive just fine. When i insert my blank disc and open files, it does that ok to. But when i hit BACKUP and its time to SELCET BACKUP TARGET, my DVD burner is not listed, only HARD DISK FOLEDER AND ISO IMAGE. This used to work for me just fine, but ever since i reinstalled windows a few days ago, my DVD drive is not an option under BACKUP TARGET. When i got to MY COMPUTER i can see the DVD burner drive just fine. It also lets me play DVDs ok too. I have reinstalled the drive and DVDSHRINK 3 times and it hasn't helped. I have Windows XP Home and a Micro-Advantage 8X DVD burner. Can anyone please help? Thanks

Hi mikey79
I think we're both in the wrong forum, however I think you'll find that Shrink 3.2 is designed to work in conjunction with Nero6 for burning.

Do you have something installed for shrink to use to burn (Decrypter or Nero)?

Hi pudlich. :)
Does the sound go off when:
- previewing the title in DVD Shrink?
- viewing the burned backup?
- viewing the backup from the hard-drive, playing the "VIDEO_TS" folder or "VIDEO_TS.IFO" file?
- viewing the backup from the hard-drive, playing the VOB files individually?

To be honest, I don't know what is causing this, but I doubt very much it has to do with DVD Shrink.
If I had to guess, I'd say it could be your set-top player working too hard to read the disc (bad media?) and giving up somehow. :/
Have you tried other media, burn speeds...?

This happened to me once. I backed up a dvd ... unchecked all AC3 audio and left only dts. Half way through the movie I lost audio.
Re-burned the movie, this time left all AC3 audio and unchecked dts. Keeping both adds alot of compression.
Hope that helps.

I'd suggest grade A Ritek, Verbatim.
I don't have enough personal experience with other media to recommend anything else.
