i dont kno what kind of burner i have but it says its TEAC DVD+RW DV-W58E
whenever i try to burn a ps2 game to a dvd+rw it never works
i tried using dvd decrypter and that aint work
it cant be my media becuz my friend made a copy of madden 2005 on the same rw and it works perfectly
but hes bein mad gay and he wont tell me how he burns it
this is what i do to burn it
i extracted the iso from madden 2005 (a real game) and then burned it wit dvd decrypter and had everythin unchecked and burn wit 1x
i left all the settings the way it was and it still aint work
even when i download dvd games and try burning them they still dont work
so am i doing something wrong...like do i need to change some settings or shud i use another program
or cud it be my burner that doesnt work right cuz i burned dvds before on the rw and that seems to work fine
so if anyone can help me out i wud really appreciate it

i think my ps2 is a v5 R or v6 R
and i have a magic 3.1 i think cuz all the burned games i have just load up when i hit reset
my friend made a copy of madden 2005 on the same rw and it works perfectly
so i ono if its my ps2 or my media
i think its either my burner or the way im burning it
do i need to change any settings for anything

With DVD Decrypter you dont need to change any settings, just iso read then write.
Alcohol you just click copy cd and select PS2 in the box.
Also only v9 v10 consoles can read +rw, ur PS2 is v5/6 so it can only read +-R.
Have you tried using +r to backup the game?

Try burning a different game on the rw and see if it works, then at least you know its not your burner.
what brand media are you using by the way?

Quote: it cant be my laser cuz i play ps2 backups and games on there all the time
I was going by this: Quote: i burned madden 2005 before on a dvdrw and then it worked but it aint work that good cuz it lagged a lot then i burned it on a dvd+r and it lagged a lot more than the rw did
and now it dont even work at all anymore
unless your media is erasing itself (it does happen) then that sounds like a prob' with your laser

you can't prevent it you can only try to prolong it's usefull life by burning at the slowest speed possible

zx is right. Also praz, the more you burn and reburn a rw, its quality will degrade gradually resulting in unreadable disks. l think the problem however is either your laser or your burner not the disk.
Have you tried the dvd you burned on your friends PS2?

try cleaning it and if that doesn't work try adjusting the laser angle by turning the white cog at the back of the dvd drive, if you have a flip top you might be able to it without removing the case lid, but that depends on the version you have

i tried cleanin the laser and tiltin it and still it didnt help at all
my dvd+r games that i burn either dont work or lag like crazy
i tried burnin burnout 3 with the Nero method and i did it at 2x or 4x i think then when it got towards the end it failed and it didnt say burn was successful it was like the burn process has failed
then i tried it on my ps2 and the burnout 3 loaded up but it lagged like crazy and i couldnt play it
did i do somethin wrong
if i want to try burnin wit Alcohol 120 then what speed do i burn it on and do i keep enable buffer underum technology on or off

You might need a new laser. when you burn with alcohol/decrypeter, you dont need to change any settings and you should burn at the lowest speed.
Quote: burnout 3 loaded up but it lagged like crazy and i couldnt play it
Does this happen with your original games, if it does its got to be ur laser.
