I'm not sure what is wrong but I'm trying to join two avi files that were part of a dvd rip and separated into two. I used other joiners and notice that there were a few extra frames and also where the join would happen there was a noticeable burst of static and then the sound would be low for about 30 seconds and then return to normal. So I used Virtualdub to do this, remove a few frames, previewed and it seemed good, but when I saved it, pretty much the same result. In fact, it might even be a little worse and it didn't save the transparent way it played. I did a passthrough and didn't reencode the file. I'm wondering whether someone can explain a better way to join avi files as they are much preferred together...
