I have a game formated for SLES (which is european format) and i was going to my friends house with this back up od silent hill 3 but he has a SLUS version of ps2 and i was wondering if i can convert this game to SLUS format?

you could try the adr patcher to convert your pal game to ntsc, you can get it from here http://forums.psxforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=20902, but to use it you will need to create a new backup of the game

might also be worth checking if his tv supports the pal tv signal because if it does then you won't need to do anything just play

if your using swap magic, you can do the following if silent hill 3 is a dvd :
Insert swap magic cd version, press eject, insert high toc disk (devil may cry)press eject.
Refreshing TOC on the screen, when it switches back to load program swap.
put videomode on NTSC and play the back-up this works for me when i play NTSC games on my PAL ps2
Should work vice versa too.
