i need help i am tring to use memorex 8x discs and i cant get them to burn sucessfully i use the 4x with no problems i need help for a buslink dvrw812d

Are you memorex + or -? And there is no updated firmware for your burner ... at least I couldn't find one.

For Model DVRW812D-U2F:
DVD+RW/+R: 8x Record, 4x Rewrite, 12x Read
DVD-RW/-R: 4x Record, 2x Rewrite, 12x Read
CD-R/RW: 40x Record, 24x Rewrite, 40x Read
