I am a wedding videographer, so I often burn a large amount of wedding DVDs for couples and their families/friends.

It is a pain to play every DVD I burn to make sure it has recorded properly and won't skip or whatever, but the last thing I want is for one of my clients to have their player skip right past the wedding vows!

Just wondering if there is a program or procedure that can test a DVD video to make sure it is of good quality. I always verify a disc after burning, but even when verification is successful the DVD plays badly in a stand-alone player.

Any ideas appreciated :)

DVD Info Pro is a free utility that that will scan for read errors as will Nero CD/DVD Speed :)

How do you check using DVD Decryptor?

I also asked the following question in another thread...sorry for that...if there are errors and I copy the backup copy, will the errors appear on the new copy?

Will running 2 or more of these proggies at the same time affect the tests?

If you go to the "Copy DVD to DVD-R using DVD Decrypter (DVDs smaller than 4.36GB)" guide you will see this screenshot ... see how the "Test Mode" box is checked? This checks your burn ...

If you make a copy of a flawed copy, I'm sure that you will most certainly copy the flaws ... after all, you are making an exact copy of the disc, right?

I don't know how running two or more of these programs at the same time will affect your results, but I wouldn't recommend doing so ...

 ... I'm sorry Newfee ... I gave you the wrong screenshot ...

On the final screen that you see just after you click on the green triangle in the screenshot that I posted above ... on the right side of the upper "Source Section" ... you will see three boxes just under the DVD title label ... tick the "verify after write" box to check your "burn" ...

I hope that this helps ...

Thanks for the help people! Now I won't make the mistake of deleting files right after I burn em.
