Ok I have this DVD9 disk (Im assuming)

I ran it through DVD Shrink with (Auto) Compression
after compression the SIZE was still at close to 4900mb

ok no prob you say :P
Just remove the extras and such

thats where my problem is
there are no extras at least not enough to make a difference by removing them only about 35mb worth (still images)

this is not a standard movie DVD, its a
compilation of Music Videos from
www.promoonly.com they do CD's and DVD's for DJ's

anyway enough about that ( you can look for yourself if you like (and YES the DVD is mine, i just want to back it up incase the original gets damaged)

I need to know if there is anyway for me to back this up...I do not have a dual layer burner obviously :)

Can i somehow increase the compression (have tried but not sure how exactly --still kinda new with shrink never had to re-author before to be honest)

or is there a way for me to split it to 2 DVD-r's

My prefered method would be 1 disk
please please pretty please :P

but spliting is my second option

thanks for the help guys

Have you tried running it through Shrink a second time?

Hi Navig8r, Here are 2 things to try. First in Shrink settings, set target size to 4300 instead of auto shrink. Second I have read where some members shrink the dvd the first time, then run the saved files through shrink again. I have never tried this so I don't know how the video quality comes out.

Put your original in and hit Backup!

Under Select Backup Target choose Hard Disk Folder. Take note of where the folder is going to be placed.

Once the film has been processed go back to the main page for Shrink, hit the Open Files button then find the VIDEO_TS folder Shrink just made. Now you're set to do your second pass :)
