Ritek G05? or Fake Taiyon Yuden?

I've recently purchased 100 G05 Ritek DVD-R's from meritline.com. I've been reading the threads finding out that there are Taiyo Yuden and other fakes in circulation. So I wanted to be certain what I bought. I have two drives, so I checked the media code on both drives installed. In doing so, the media code (DVDinfopro)listed, using an NEC 2500 listed as "TYG02", but the media code using an Benq DW822a listed as "RITEKG05" media. What gives? How can I tell which media code listed is accurate? The firmwares I am running is up-to-date on both drives, so i'm baffled. I've burnt 3 coasters using my NEC drive FYI, havent tried the Benq yet. But my assumption is that my NEC drive is having issues with the RITEK media, not sure about the BENQ. I will post results as I reinstall the drive.

But has anyone in this board run into this? Or am I bugging out. Any information would be gladly appreciated. Thanks all.

TYG02 and RITEKG05, is what it listed in both dvd-burners respectively.

According to Mertline. These disk burn at 4x on nec burners. not sure why the media code list TYG02 though. Anyone know why?

When I put a same 8X media to both burner.

-Sony 510 (4X) read: burn at speed 1X,2X,4X
-Pioneed 108(16X) read: burn at speed 2X,4X,8X
The media brand code unchange

Those speed may corellate to xxx02 xxx05 , but the TYGxx and RITEKGxx really freak me out.

Whats the quality of the RITEKG05 media like?

I am looking at ordering a 100 disc spindle of the inkjet printable ones!
