I have a Plextor PX-708A DVD burner and have been unable to get it to burn faster than .8x - 1x when burning movies duping or from image ( ISO / BIN ). The end result is a successful but slowass burn at 1 hr 20 mins !! I have an AMD athlon cpu 1100Mhz , 512Mb DDR Ram , OS= XP professional and a 120 Gb HD . I'm using B's Gold and DVD Decrypter to burn and copy DVD's . The DVD-r media that I'm using is Memorex . I'd appreciate hearing from you all about any suggestions you all might have . Is my burning time consistent with my computer specs ?? The DVD's are all standard sizes , about 4.3 - 4.5 GB . Ripping to HD takes 35 mins and burning takes 80 mins . I've read about using 2nd party firmware to get around burning caps but I don't want to risk voiding warranty and toasting my burner .
