Arrrrgghhh, I've read all the tutorials accross many different XBox forums, including the fantastic Seamonkey's, But im still no further forward with networking my XBox. My network is conected with a Belkin 10/100BT 5 port Ethernet switch (F5D5130u5) and my network works great between the three PC's i have. I've downloaded all the xbox progs and several different versions of EvoX Dashboard, and managed to burn them to CDRW with the changes to the .ini file for the IP address stuff. But everytime i connect up the XBox it still says - TYPE (BLANK), IP - 0.0.0.0. All the settings in the dashboard are correct with my network settings and there is still no change.

If i remove the patch cable while in the settings of Dashboard, it says no link, if i plug it back in it still says TYPE (blank) and IP 0.0.0.0

I have noticed a lot of other people suffering this problem, and have taken thier advice (use such & such version of the dash, recheck the INI file, etc etc) but nothing works.

I also had to connect a PC DVD drive to the box as the XBox DVD drive just didnt like any of the discs i burt.

I am now going mad, very mad. I have managed to install a 60gb IBM Deskstar and set it up using the Slayer autoinstaller, but i want all my savegames from the original XBox HD. Here is where my brain goes into overdrive - can i unlock the XBox retail HD through my PC and copy the files to PC HD and then take my Upgraded HD on the xbox out, connect it to my PC and transfer the files i took from the retail HD.

I know it would be easier to fix the network problem, but i've lost patience with it now. Can anyone help ?

Wow, at least i've got that off my chest. sorry for the size of the post. But i've lost the plot with this now.

BOLDMO, I had probs with mine too. I finally took my NIC out reinstalled it in my pc restarted it and the xbox then had no probs. make sure you use the same ip from your pc like 192.168.0.1 for your default gateway. I use 192.168.0.64 for my xbox since thats what it comes up originally. are you using flash fxp? thats the best proggy out there to send files to your xbox.

youll have to get your network between your pc and xbox going and backup your xbox hd to your PC then replace the drive then send the game saves back to your new drive thats what I did. I also have 3 pc networked at home I separated one set up a mini lan with the xbox with my one dedicated machine and a crossover cable without using my hub. make sure on your pc you change the network setting to the not obtain ip auto. are you using 98 or windows xp?

Need some help guys....

Trying to backup xbox game "The Sims". I used FlashFXP and got it down onto my PC and then burnt an image with xISO. I try playing it in the xbox and it comes up saying no disk.

I have also tryed using gdfimage to build it and even a combination of gdfimage with CloneXB. These all gave the same results....

Lastly I downloaded a iso image from the net using overnet and it did the same thing.

I am using Nero to burn the DVD and have a mod chip with the EvoX D.6 bios

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong, other games have worked fine using this process..

re: bikerazz, you need to patch the default.xbe file on your pc using a xbe patcher, then copy that newly patched file back to the sims directory and reboot and hopefully it will play fine (the problem is that ms puts a media key in the default.xbe, the pathcing program changes it so it allows the game to work from the hardrdive)

re:BoldMo

your using an ethernet switch? try a router, it will work fine: here is what my evox.ini looks like and my network works fine. Have you tried to do anything with your pc, what os are you running?

here is my evox.ini for anyone that needs a start (it has the options to flash the bios chip too, i autoadd my games to the menu as you will see, however i have ingame reset turned off due to the effects it has on my enter the matrix game:

Is there one program similar to DVD X Copy that will back-up your xbox games in one simple step?

Wow, Seamonkey i am honered with your visit to my humble thread, "we are not worthy".

I eventually got everything working by switching on my router first, booting the pc, booting the xbox then running flashxp. Everything works ok in that order, not any other.

The other "embarising" fix was that i was not scrolling all the way down to the end of the Evolution x system listing. I was changing the IP address, but i didnt use "save and exit". I know, I know, i kicked myself up and down the house for days after that one......

With regard to The Sims, i have the same problem. Have tried to patch it with several different progs, but they all have the same problem when running the sims from HD, total freeze up.

If I upgrade my EvoX bios on my Executer 2 Lite to one that has the media patch upgrade on it, will this sort out my problem without all this patching.

sorry i haven't been to active in teh forums, my new job keeps me busy and also trying to start a case modding company (we'll see if we get anything going ever!), but I WILL RESPOND to all questions emailed to me but it might take a week or two for a response..

peace out!

While you are about seamonkey, i have recently chiped a V1.1 with the new X2 lite 2.1 and i am having major problems.

Can you help, or anyone passing.

Mod installed (tried both Pogo & wire), Xbox starts first time, every time from a cold boot straight into evo (red or yellow) bios and then into evolution x, no problems.

As soon as your do a eject, play game from Disc (option from evolution x, RESET), Power off, The box does the 3x reset thing with a red/green light flash. It does it again and again and again, your get the idea.

Strange thing is, if your have a multiple game disc in the drive when booting, it runs fine to the menu and then whatever game you select to play, game runs fine for hours. Then if your use the trigger reset the box jumps back to the game disc menu, and then runs whatever other game you select. But as soon as you Eject/Power off the box goes back to 3x reset and error.

Strange thing number two, to get the box to boot from cold again i have to wait 12 hours (nothing less works) to get it to work again.

HELP HELP HELP, I'm guessing at some over power problem or somthing.

Anyone help

wow that is weird!!

first, what version of evox are you using? is it an eject fix versoin?

next, what version of evolution x dashboard are you using? are you using the IGR setting?

did these games work fine on the verion 1.0 xbox you modded?

i'd first check your evox.ini and make sure menu part that lets you play dvd is set as follow:
Item "Play Game in DVD",@14

then, i'd check for any loose wires inside the xbox and also look to see if any traces on the motherboard got broken (ya never know)

i'll check back later today or htis week..
peace

Bios is 4977, as far as i know it has the eject fix.

Evolution X is the version that comes with slayer 2.1

Yip, games discs work fine on my ver 1.0.

I will check the ini for "Play Game in...."

I will also check the m/b for probs, i was thinking that myself as i had heard some people having problems with capacitors breaking loose with a similar type problem.

Any help is much apreciated.
