Is mod chip ness. for playing burned ps2 games...i'm just starting out and i'm kinda confused..can you just burn the games via dvd decrypter and play them in ps2...or do i need to buy some type of mod chip...thankx

You should do some searching before you post these questions. They have been answered many times. And yes you either need swap disc or a mod chip to play backups.

but anyway in answer to your qiestion, no you don't need a mod chip, check out the link in my sig' and you will find out how to play backups without a chip
