Just installed a DVD -RW but can't play dvd's

Hi,

I'm just new to DVD ROMS specially DVD RW's. Recently bougght a sony DVD RW U-18A and installed it on my pc. Have tried to play a couple of dvd movies to test the dvd rw but have problems to run them. I always get a message that says more or less like this : "playback failed because of a video subsystem error, lowering color resolution and depth might solve the problem". I just have done it several time sbut can't get problem solved??

Maybe could be the player (interactual player) thats installed on my pc or anything else can be missing or to be done to be able to get the player play my dvd's?? Maybe install something in particular in first instance in order to make the dvd play movies??

Any help on this one??
