how do i burn the mgs3 demo?

Hi, I have a question. I downloaded the demo from supernova, extracted the iso, and burned it to a dvd using DVD Decrypter. I'm using a flip top w/ swap magic. The demo gets the blue border on the insert disc screen and the screen goes black as if the game will start... but it doesn't. I'm stuck at the black screen, can anyone tell what I did wrong? Thanks in advance.

dragpnP Nero should give you the option of burning just .iso file , select that (dvd-rom (iso)) thats the option , then burn the .iso at the lower speed posible , when i did that i burned it but the playstation didnt read it well so i burned it with DVD Decrypter at the lowest speed and it worked , bur for some people Nero did the job ok .
kure2004 whant speed did you select in DVD Decrypter? select the lowest one like 1x or something , if it doesnt work try with Nero also at the lowest speed.

I have burnt the MGS3 demo from suprnova.org, i extracted the '001' file with winrar then burnt the iso with dvddecrypter. I know I have burnt it correctly as Nekomex did the same and confirmed it worked in the first few posts of the thread.
What happens is the exact same thing as all mt other backups, the blue border only when other backups boot the mgs3 demo just goes black screen.
I am using swap magic dvd vers 2.0 with slide card. The media is fine as my other backups work fine with it.
I cannot use the solution that mgs32 posted about swap dvd with cd then back when u hear the sound on the controls screen for the demo as i cannot even get the dvd to boot past the black screen.
PS: my swap magic cd vers 3.0 disc does not boot at all, it just stops spinning on the browser/version menu of my ps2. I dnt think i need taht, as the demo works for nekomex and his is on a dvd-r to.
Any help as to how to remedy this would be most appreciated.

That is the patching program I havem, but is the demo PAL or NTSC as if its PAL i shdnt need to patch cuz im in Europe..
and zxspeky are you using swap magic with the slide card?

soz bt double post, but its easier to follow this way.
I just patched it with the program mentioned above, however there was no y fix found and i didnt check 'make PN selector' box. The game does exactly as it done with the non patched one... blue border(likr my other backups) then to a black screen.
Someone please help, as I really wanna play this game, cant wait till next march to get the real thing.

hmm i guess il get the 2gb version i got the 600mb >.<, but dragpnP any idea if it works with swap magic and slide card? Id assume it does as its virtually the same as the flip top. Also im guessing the 600mb version is a rip and iv read that swap magic cannot play rips u need to download or use cdloader or something.. well off to hunt suprnova for the 2gb version, thanks guys :)
Oh yeah, if i back up multi dvd games like star ocean. How do I swap discs without damaging the drive? So i just use my slide card as normal and slide it out and replace.. as you know some games like taht u have to replace the disc when it prompts then after the swap you can save.

I know that, I dnt mean to be rude but i did mention that my swap magic cd version does not even boot to the load game screen it just whirs and clicks on the browser screen before it boots.
However keeping that in mind, I am getting a replacement and I will try that.
PS: Aquick question can u play backed up multi disc games... as some of them it prompts ingame to swap the discs b4 u can save, so how would u go about that, wouldnt it damage the drive?

teggy the only difference between your copy and mine i think its that i have a chip and you have the slide card , that should be the problem, but are you sure that the game is burned ok? because for some guys decrypter wont burn it correctly , for me it worked but the exactly same steps sometimes wont work for other guys . other thing its that the demo its in NTSC , if you are in europe then that could be why it dosnt work you would need to convert the file to PAL .

i know , i patched it.. but even before i patched it Swap magic gave me the blue border then it goes black. and it was burnt at x2(it wdnt let me use x1, it reverted to x2).
Once I get my Swap Magic cdver 3.0 i will try dibbellas method...
But what i wnat is breaker pro.. but i dnt want to pay :(

Hi, I read everything previously in this thread and I live in the UK, and I'd like some help from someone here who has made progress or maybe even gotten the demo to work on an PAL PS2 like mine.
I'm downloading the MGS3 trial edition ISO and RAR files as we speak, one is 427 megs and the ISO is
about 2.53 gigs. I've got a few utilites like some
NTSC/PAL converters, dvd converter, and Nero. Which
file do I use to burn to a CD the iso or whatever's
in the RAR? Someone who's worked it help out,

ALSO I cannot write my own DVD's only CD's will that work on a PS2?

I live in the Pacific and I have gotten the demo to work on my PAL ps2. But you cant burn it to a CD it wont work, the only way to burn it is to use a DVD burner.
I havent tried to patch the game yet but dont need to due to the fact that my TV can understand both formats NTSC and PAL.
You need a mod chip as well to play backup games. The data of a CD is way to small to fit onto a DVD, if you have a MOD chip and DVD burner you can play the demo.
It wont work the CD needs the dummy information on it, but the dummy information is about 2GB so there is no way you can fit it onto a CD. Unless you were to backup a CD game, but that is not the case here.
The actually game is only 630MB in size the rest of it is dummy information.

Just a point, I still haven't got mine to work. I have two versions patched and un-patched. I can only use swap magic dvd v2.0, my ps2 won't boot swap magic cd's.
I have tried DVDloader, it didn't work. However I have not tried DVDloader beta5.2 or DVDloader v7all.
So why in the name of blue poo does it not work!

Yes you may have it tomorrow.. but I won't. I have to wait until next march, and it will be probably be pushed back like MGS2 was so many times for us here in the UK. It sucks nuts.

I thought that the game is released in the UK in January. Here in NZ we get the game in March. But you UK people get it in january I am sure of it.

If it's january then happy days. But MGS2 was march and I seen in some mags that it was march and on the GAMEuk website it says TBC. But as we speak americans could be playing it right now. :'(.
