I have a somewhat unique problem. I had a photo shop transfer my parent's old (1950s!)8mm film to digital and put into onto a dvd. I'm pleased that it all worked. But now I want edit the VOB files and add music, transitions, delete scenes etc for a more finished product and burn back to a dvd. I'm using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 4+. Do I need to rip the DVD or just convert the VOB files to MPG? Would AVI be better? What about the BUP files and IFO files on the DVD? I tried ChopperXP, TMPGEnc Basic, and some others. The disc is not protected or Macrovisioned. I want to be able to play these on standard DVD player/TV. Thanks in advance for the help.
