Is it true that a solderless modchip will not work on Xbox 1.6?? Is this the newest version of xbox??

Where can I tell what version my xbox is?

It will work. There are two things to be sure:
1) make sure you get the BIOS that is designed for v1.6
2) make sure you know how to "recover" the LPC
