i have a BenQ burner (not sure exactly what type, but i got it two months ago), but one problem i have is that its min speed is 2.4x. would this work for backing up ps2 games? if it cant is there a way to fix this problem and burn at a lower speed?

Also, i plan on backing Star Ocean 3, and i understand that its on two disks. Are these disks dual-layer? And if i do come across a game thats dual-layer what do i do? i dont think DVD-Decrypter can compress them. Would DVD-Shrink or Clone DVD work fine?

from the burn speed you post i guess your burning to dvd+r discs, this is the min speed supported by +r media and if you use good quality media a burn speed of 2.4x should be file, now to dual layer ps2 games, you cant compress them like you do with movies you will either have to split the game to multi dvd5 discs or downsample the fmv sequences and maybe the audio to fit a single layer dvdr disc or if your writer can burn dvd+r dual layer discs and you can get your ps2 to boot them then you might be able just to do a 1:1 backup that way

can't help with star ocean 3 as i don't own that game

actually i use -r disks (unless they're +r and were sold in -r packaging) but im glad to know that 2.4x should be able to work. i guess GTA: San Andreas is DVD-9 so lets hope it would be able to be compressed. As for good quality media, could someone name me a few (that can ussually be sold in retail stores like canada computers or staples or something). Thank You.
