Oh No...I JUST purchased DVD Cloner II...I have not installed it yet..but after reading all you-all's problems..I'm worried I've been RIPPED.......I've tried other software....a cracked version of Studio 321 DVD Copy Express; DVD Shrink (had to install Neuro)...and now DVD Cloner II (because I've been told by a friend that it was the best and easiest)..I called myself giving up on the others and trying DVD Cloner II....
DVD Copy Express, after 35 mins of copying the original DVD, the DVD COPY Express disappears from my screen...I have to 'find' the files....which I pull from Sonic......then another 35 mins to burn to DVD...only thing is...the movie plays back in chapters....
DVD Shrink w/ using Nero...came back w/ protected disk...i thought It was a cracked version...or do you have to 'crack' DVD Shrink
Now I have DVD Cloner II...Haven't tried it yet....my one question, which I have asked of the company, which, after reading your e-mails I may never know the answer to, is......Will I receive the actual software through the mail? Or will I only have the 'on-line download" version only?

DVD Cloner 2.32
I was copying DVD movie bonus material to HDD and Cloner couldn't get the job done, a popup menu appeard, entitled DVD Shrink 3.1, it would seem the rumors are true, DVD Cloner is a disguised, plagarised, version of DVD Shrink.
I wouldn't object to giving the author of the application his or her due financial reward for it does an excellent job of work, but paying rip off merchants a fee which they clearly are not entitled to, is unacceptable practice.
I have uninstalled the pretender off my HDD for there is no substitute for the original and genuine DVD Shrink!

DVD Cloner works perfectly. I love this program. Trouble free (XP with SP2 installed). I don't know what the problem is with other users. In some ways I like it better than DVDXpress.

I'm not sure if your reply, Beanshide is a validation of my post and slay10 or the opposite. Did or didn't you like Cloner?

May I refer you to my post of 13 October.
DVD Cloner IS DVD Shrink in disguise, plagarised and dressed up and sold as their own product and ripping people off in the process my selling a SHAREWARE application, the legality of which is debatable, but it is morally unjustifiable. To answer your question, yes, I liked DVD Cloner(alias DVD Shrink 3.1) it worked well 99% of the time, but what I didn't like, and cannot ignore, was the fact that I and everyone who actually bought this cross dresser, were conned out of their hard earned cash having no idea what lay beneath the false front of DVD Cloner. As a matter of principle I no longer use it.

Oh, I didn't know that...I'll check your previous post. If you download DVD Shrink will it look like this program and how does the cloner get by with this?
Thanks.

Beanshide...I read your post re: DVD Shrink.....If it is the same then y is DVD Cloner easier and faster to use? Y is it that I don't have to watch the movie being analyzed b/4 it's burned, like i have to w/ DVD Shrink? Y is Cloner more user friendly than DVD Shrink? I cannot find any similarities between the two, I've used them both and find DVD Cloner easier to use..I don't know about you, but easier is what I'm after....as far as legality......that's hipocracy (sp) most people who buy these dvd copying software are after CSS Decryption...is that legal?
I can't tell you how frustrated I was w/ DVD Shrink....not to mention it did not work w/ my burning software (Sonic).....so it was useless to me...and if DVD Cloner is the same then y is it that Sonic works w/ Cloner and not Shrink?
Oh well....one person's treasure is another person trash....

Just went to DVD Shrink and it does not BURN the DVD...like the Cloner does. DVD Cloner is a reader and burner in one pkg. How can you fault them if this program does more than DVD Shrink.?? I'm not faulting your opinion just pointing out the programmer had to do more than just put his name on DVDCloner.

Is it hypocracy to make a backup of a DVD movie that you purchased from a certified dealer? I don't think so, when your intention is not to mass produce and re-sell for a profit, it is simply protecting your investment by using the copy and locking the mastercopy away. I was aware that DVD Shrink was slower, visit the website and find out why, personally I was well pleased with its speed of operation, and you don't HAVE to watch the analytical movie. Trust me, DVD Cloner is DVD Shrink in disguise, follow a few links and you'll find a lot of other people discovered that for themselves. It's not a nice feeling knowing you've been suckered.
On the Internet, everything that glitters is not necessarily gold, and being advertised on reputable websites is no gaurantee that all is above board!

Thanks Bean....let's just agree to disagree....for now......I thought DVD Shrink was very complicated and, like i said, it did not work w/ my dvd burning software (Sonic), and I do not/did not want to 'buy' new software burning just for shrink..sooooooo.....
Plus if DVD Shrink was sooo easy I would have NEVER had to shop around and found Cloner.......soooooo whatever works...I'm happy w/ Cloner...at least it works fine for now.......but I am just a newbie in all this...
By the way, I just saw at the top of "this website page" a plug for CloneDVD...I guess that's DVD Shrink too...huh :)

Let's not be ignorant now. BeanShide and may other agree that DVD Cloner II is an older version of DVD Shrink (myself included)
RE: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/92001
And CloneDVD2 by SlySoft(elby) is far from being a ripped off version of another software.
Now if DVD Cloner II works for you fine, but for free DVD Shrink is tought to beat. And, Shrink works with DVD Decrytper which is also free.
And if your going to buy anything buy AnyDVD & CloneDVD2 (together is $65) ... compared to CloneDVD II with is I believe $60 or $70.

For sure we can agree to disagree - if you can't accept
what I'm telling you is the truth, then I guess you'll have to learn the hard way! And on the subject of guessing, it's no good enought to GUESS, you need to know for a FACT before you stand up and point the finger at this or that application. Your best guess regarding DVD Clone is incorrect as has been pointed out by the previous post. I find DVD Shrink easy to use
but it took me a little time to become familiar with the options and settings. It has never failed me and in fact backed up the DVD that caused DVD Cloner II to take the wobbler which forced it to show its true identity. God moves in mysterious ways!
Anyway...have fun!

You GUYS are too much.......you do what works for you...i'll do what works for me....if DVD Cloner II is an old version of Shrink...so be it......My mother always said...."ya get what cha pay for" and I am not sorry that i paid a few dollars for software that ACTUALLY works....effortlessly.....and already has the decryptor INCLUDED.....PLUS I have the actual Cloner CD in my library...not just a down-load....I am not comfortable w/ 'downloading' just ANYTHING onto my computer....a friend of a friend gave me the Shrink CD...yes it works....but not easily and not w/ my dvd burning software (Sonic)....so....like i said...u do what works 4 u.....i'll do what works 4 me.......
Thanks for all of your comments....all I know is I have not more Shrink headaches........and plenty of Cloner DVDs.....

I don't want to beat a dead horse, but couldn't Shrink have been paid by DVD Cloner for the part of the program that is claimed as theirs?
Has the programmer of Shrink complained to anyone?

Ok I have read all of your threads. It has been very interesting. I have a few questions in hope that some one can help me. I just got a new pc that has a dvd-rom and DVD+/-RW. This is a Dual Layer. I bought this in hopes of not having to rent movies any more and burning DVD's from friends and downloading off of Shareware sites like Napster for movies and putting them on DVD R/W disks to play in my DVD player. Well first of all I need a software(s) that will convert AVI AND other forms of video you can download off line to a MPEG or JPEG "DVD" form to play on my DVD player and also need a great software that will decrypt CCS so I can make exact copies of DVD's. A few probs I have ran into is My PC is asking for DVD 9 disks when I try to make a copy of a DVD I own. And it will not accept the regualr 4.7 GB DVD+RW disks. Also I have Sonic for my DVD burning software also not sure what this is used for but also have CyberLink PowerDVD. Where and how can I get all of this. The only way I can download a movie off line and have it work on my DVD player is if I find a MPEG type, any other my DVD will not read or play. Well that is almost impossible considering the majority is AVI files and DIVX online. I hope I am explaining all of this correctly and am not confusing you. I am new to a DVD+RW prev PC only had CD+RW which was way easier. I am in hopes of getting these for free, that will do all the above or some help on an inexpensive way to accomplish all the above. Some of you people sound very familiar and knowlegable on how to accomplish these. So some one please help. Thanks

The good news is you have a good burner: the bad news is we don't use other people's DVD to make copies for OURSELVES and cannot be party to infomation to let you do this. RIGHT, Coach???
If you want to make copies of DVDs you buy or can legally download from the Net that is fine. But I cannot help you with information to make illegal copies of CDs or DVDs. Sorry.

I've been using DVD Cloner since last summer and made about 100 good back ups.
But resently got Nero and therefor thought I'd give Shrink a try. Let me tell you, Shrink blows DVD Cloner 2 away.
It's faster, can be customized and relatively easy to use once you read the the guide on this site.
Highly recommend it!

Ok that is fine. I understand that and that is fair. So How do I make dups of my daughters cartoons or other movies WE own? And how do I convert other forms of video off of line to MPEG or a sort of video that DVD players will read and play?
