the problem is the no cd fix, it just doesn't work right,i had the emulation detected and found that it was my old version of clone cd that was being detected, try updating your version of Alcohol 120 or try the latest version of deamon tools and if you have clone try to update that, you might also find a lot of usefull sims 2 info in this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/109246

Okay then. So, bottom line is, the No CD crack is what is preventing it from using the Build feature?? So what if we installed the game without the no cd crack..would it work?

praz i burnt cd1 using Alcohol 120 using the safedisc 2/3 template and the other 3 using the normal cd template, i installed the game using the burnt discs and to load the game i use the image file i created of cd1 and mount it in alcohol's virtual drive, the game loads fine and all in game functions are avalible

cloud666 yes the bottom line is the no cd is causing the problem with build mode

Thanks a lot man! One more question though..would it work, if I just replaced the 'nocd cracked sims2.exe' file with the normal one, since the sims2.exe file is the only thing the no cd crack touched?? And just played it the normal way, through the cd?? If so, would somebody be willing to send me their normal sims2.exe file??? Yes I know I'm a dumbass for not making a backup... noemailsallowed@afterdawn.com is my e-mail, I'd really appreciate it!

Also, is Safedisc the same as Securom?? How do you burn it using the Safedisc 2/3 template?

Also, is Safedisc the same as Securom??
Nope. They're two entirely different protection schemes that need to be burned using different methods and settings :)

hey guys i just dloaded sims 2 from suprnova and i burned the image files using nero.
all went well and the game starts up normally after i used a nocd patch.
i recently learned that using this patch causes my build mode to not work.
is there any way to start sims actually using the cd?
or should i try a different program to burn the first disk?
