Q: Ok. I have a question. This has probably been answered already, but I've been searching and have not found a clear answer to me yet.
Can I transfer a game to my PS2 only using these: network adapter, harddive, hdloader or hdadvanced? And not using the pc to ps2 transfer? Only insing PS2?
A: YES Definitely! you can transfer/install your games to your PS2 HD by using the system alone (Play Station 2) along with mention above "Network Adapter, Hard drive and HDLoader software". Just Have them handhy HDLoader or HDAdvance and enjoy your games :)

Thanks for answering. Maybe someday I won't be a noob and I can help someone with there questions.
I'm on my second PS2 because my two girls (3 and 5 yrs old) play it all the time and broke the first PS2.It fell off the T.V. Now I put it on the floor. And keeping the disks from getting scratched up is almost impossible with them, so the HDD way of backing games up are for me.
Thanks again.

Q: is there a way to do this without the hdadvanced or hdloader?
A: HDAdvance or HDLoader is the program for 3rd party Hard Drive. So there's no way you can play your game then without HDAdvance or HDLoader. You need one of them.
Tip: Google "MC Exploit Tuturial"

>A: I think it got to do with the revisions, that's why windows 98 can not detect it. and for the driver? i don't think it's posted somewhere, remember sony manipulated it the official HD to just work with PS2, I would suggest get a fresh HD from a third party vendor (like seagate, maxtor, samsung etc...) Have Fun!

>A: What kind of files are you trying to transfer to your PS2? I have a program that strictly linking your PS2 to your PC. The function of this programs is strictly installing Games into your HD (hard drive on the PS2)without dis-assembling and removing the Network Adapter and the HD and then attach it your pc and use WINHIIP, it's simply install games thru the network. I have the program (image) for it if you're interested just send me a line. There is however, another program that will link your PS2 to your PC, therefore you can browse your MC, HD or even the ROM of your PS2 from your PC once linked, see "navi95" tuturial. With "navi95" tuturial, I don't know if transfering games works, I didn't persue it. Goodluck and Have Fun

I followed Navi's tuturial and thought I would be able to send games from the PS2 to the PC using the cable line of the router. I downloaded FlashFTP thinking that is what that was used for. I downloaded LaunchELF but I am not sure how to use any of those programs yet. I did get the connection between the two and established a connection. Now how exactly do I send games and whatnot? Do I need to download more applications to my PS2? Any help would be nice.

And for some reason, FlashFTP doesn't read all the games on my hard drive. Is it suppose to be able to read the games I have on my hard drive?

i have tried ur methot but im stuck on the last part
Now that you have established the FTP its all matter of placing the BOOT.ELF and TITLE.DB into the correct directory.
Now find another guide that tells you how to put your PSX games ID into the TITLE.DB so that it works as a trigger (very easily found on this site). Once you have created your TITLE.DB file you will need a BOOT.ELF (that?s any PS2 app you want to make it start with, I use LaunchELF, which can be found at www.eurasia.nu, so that I can run my appz through button association and I can put the ELFs onto a HDD partition and run them from there instead of the MC thus saving space for saves (loads of appz on the MC usually takes up bout 1-2mb I?d say). If you don?t want to get into that and have enough MB on ur MC then just copy all your appz such as HDavance into that directory as well
were do i get those files from and how to boot it?

>A: I said "I did NOT persue navi95's tuturial" I can only help you on "HD_Dumd" that is, what i'm using right now. Send me a line and try the one i have, "only if you want" and again it's Strictly installing games to your PS2 HD thru Network. Can be Original Disc, copy, or Image(ISO) and it works for me.
cheers

For some reason I thought switching my PS2 hard drives would help out some. Listing the games I already have on the hard drives. I put the Maxtor 160 Gig hd in the playstation thinking it would list them. Right now I am stuck on adding games to the hard drive. Sending games back and forth from the PS2 via PC. Now I guess this HD_Dumd strickly sends games back and forth, because that is all I am really looking to do. I have the connection I just need a program to send and recieve games. With this HD_Dumb do I have to put it in the memory card and use the PS1 disk as a trigger? These are the type of problems I am having right now. I am new to all this. Thank you in advance MJay23.

>A: I think i know what you're trying to do from my understanding. For example: Install a game into the PS2 HD and then retreive it back from PS2 HD into the PC for any kind of reason thru Network?.
**** Ok for now as i've been reading forums, I have NOT seen it yet, a program that can do that function transfer back and forth thru Network (send and receive). The program i'm using right now (HD_DUMB) is ONLY to transfer/send Games into your PS2 from PC that is both NETWORK LINKED together. It does NOT function as a "Back and Forth" "Send and Recieve" moving file system, games or what have you and transferring PS2 to PC or PC to PS2, it only goes one way which "Source of games is PC to transfer to PS2 HD, PC--->>PS2 HD / PC sends to PS2 HD. Only from PC to PS2 HD that's it. You can not reverse the function or it does not function Back and Forth transfer like from PS2 send to PC. Maybe someday when they come up with the new version or even a new program for it then it'll be great, for now we all hang on. But Again PC-->>>PS2 HD that is it. The progrm i'm using is called "HD_DUMB". Again this is thru Network.
The Only way to retrieve the games now, off of your PS2 HD is by removing it from PS2 Console and connect it to IDE onto your PC as SLAVE, and then use "WIINHIP" program to do the transferring from PS2 HD TO PC HD.
Hope this helped you, goodluck!

You're helping some. It really isn't important to send games from the PS2 HDD to the PC. That I am not too worried about. I am hooked up though the network. I can send files to my memory card but I can not read my partitions in my PS2 HDD. Therefore I can not send games to the playstation. Now this HD_Dumd reads the partitions? Or is it not important? Right now I am at work and when I get a chance when I get home, I'll download this program you're talking about and see if it works or not. Basically what I want to do is download games, and send them to the PS2 through the network connection without taking apart the PS2 and the computer each time. I have initialized a connection on port 21, but I need a program to send the games to the HDD. Thank you again.

I'm trying to connect PC>PS2 with FlashFXP but what do I need to run on the ps2 to get this working? I need to know the method where I have to burn a cd, cuz I can't get my ps2 hdd working on my pc, in does it says invalid boot disc when I start. So I need to know how to get a server running on ps2 using a CDR method.

Well guys, I have spent time on "Navi95" tutorial and a help from my private message that i have spoked with lastweek and it is a success! :) I have not tried tansfering games with "FlashFXP" though but I can manipulate the MC and HD. so far to what i have notice with this program, it is very easy to install ".ELF" program files into MC. i can also retrieve all the file from the PS2 into my PC. Great stuff, it's cool i like it. thanks
