When I hit "OK" to backup DVD (enconding process), I get an error message. It reads the following:
"DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue
Copy Protection Error
The request could not be performed beause of I/O device error"

I downloaded DVD43, i cannot find a guide that says how to use it. So, how do I use it because i cannot encode in Shrink because there is a copy protection error.????

Well DVD43 basically just sits in your tray and even though it does not look like it is doing anything, just watch the little face closely when you put in a disc. It has no "controls".
Kinda doubt that will help though. I would remove and reinstall Shrink before doing anything else. Try another movie too.

Hi all. :)
joshto, maddogg, this DVD Shrink error is due to the inclusion of the Nero SDK (Software Development Kit) in the latest versions.
Unchecking "Enable burning with Nero" in DVD Shrink "Edit >> Preferences >> File I/O" menu usually does the trick. ;)

newbie here, if you uncheck the enable burning with Nero box how will you be able to burn the DVD? Do I need to get another program or does shrink us a different program do do the ripping?

Ziggy86, unchecking this option only means DVD Shrink will not burn automatically when it's done processing.
The generated files can still be burned manually using Nero.
If you do want for DVD Shrink to burn, you can use DVD Decrypter (free).
To do so, simply select "ISO image and burn with DVD Decrypter" in the "Backup! >> Target Device" window.
You obviously need to have DVD Decrypter installed on your system. ;)
