Previously ive used a tool to capture stills from the raw AVI footage but the resolution is absolutely abysmal.

Is it possible to freeze/scan/print specific images from mini-dv tape or avi file onto a pc hard-drive to design the hard copy/cover for it?

Help appreciated!
