Hi, I need your help if you can kindly provide it.
I want to copy a DVD backup of X-Men Legends onto the PS2
hard drive. I mean, this is the sort of thing the HDD should
be used for: faster load times. X-Men really does need it b/
c those of you who have played it, know the pain of going to
the character status page....wait times seem like an eternity of
1 minute each time that panel is accessed. Ridiculous!!
I have an hd advance version 1.0 and a flip-top for my ps2,
plus a copy of swap magic, dvd edition.
I boot up HD Advance and choose "convert", at which HD
Advance prompts me to put in a game disk. this is where I put
in either a swap magic disk or a ps2 original game.
Afterwards, HD Advance prompts you for a name that you
want to call this game you've put into the ps2. I think this is
where you're supposed to pop open the flip-top, remove the
swap magic/original ps2 disc, and then put in the copy.
HOWEVER...
I pop the top open, and swapmagic/original is still spinning!!!
There's no way for me to conveniently grab it without
eventually incurring some damage to the lazer lens (it's pretty
bad...mine got grinded a little bit today but luckily the ps2
unit is still working).
Am I supposed to have some sort of later release of HD
Advance? The version I've got says it's....1.0 There seems to
be an indication on the PS2NFO website that suggests that I
need to created a patched copy of HD Advance which will stop
the disc from spinning when I open the flip-top case. Is that
the case or can I get away with just using my original copy of
HD Advance somehow? If I do need to patch it
(with whatever's at http://www.backup-source.com/forums/ showthread.php?threadid=7823), can somebody be more
precise in providing the basic steps from the very very start,
assuming that I'm just any person off the street who knows
nothing about copying stuff?
