Is there a program out there that clones dvd and makes exact copies of already made dvd-r or dvd+r 's? I want to make multiple copies of my already burned homemade movies with my sony dru-500a but don't want to have to convert to mpeg after I make the first one.
Please help!

Once you have created your DVD, it is very simple to copy.
Use a programme like Nero.

yeah nero works fine also maybe try dvd decryptor

but I thought these had to do mpeg conversion instead of a raw copy (chapters menus etc. and all). How long would it take to burn a copy of a regular dvd-r to drive then burn that image to a blank dvd-r?
I'm done.

Once you have burned your "own" DVD disc, extra copies are no problems at all.
Use Nero, "DVD copy".
Your "requirement" is very simple.
Trust me, I have done this lots of times.

PS As for burning times, the MAX is about 1hr (assuming your DVD is close to 4.7Gb) otherwise less.

I canot believe people who reply are not answering this persons question correctl!!!
once you have an already made dvd-r original,to make more, you copy them just as you would for copying a cd with the correct software
select- exact copy with whatever dvd copy software you have
ie) nero, stienberg,prazzi, recordnow max
but to name a few

Thanks all. I found dvdxcopy and it seems easy enough, but I wanted to see the new version of nero anyway so I'll try both.

We have to do it this way,
If it is a commercial DVD, you want DVD XCOPY Xpress.
If it is a homemade DVD You already have your answer from Apexi350z !

ScubaPete is right - if you authored the DVD yourself, from your own material, you DEFINITELY don't want to use DVDxCOPY. It will add a 10 second "copywrite" warning to the beginning of your beautifully set up DVD that will be unsightly and annoying.
Nero "DVD Copy" is the way to go.
If you don't have Nero, you can use the freeware program DVDDecrypter to rip an ISO image of the DVD and burn it back to blanks as many times as you like.
Basically, speed depends on the speed of your drive.
