Hi, all! How're you doing? My question tonight is, "Where did you get your name here on AD from?" Mine name is both a German and English word meaning "outsider." Since I enjoy my solitude, it seemed natural.

Oh, and to bridge this to another commonly done topic, who here is a little upset at the huge amount of posts here that break rules? Be it listing email addresses, passwords, or pirated material, it's all on the rise. Anyone else feel like bitching? I sure do! lol, ta ta.

I really have no idea how I cam up with my user name. I was trying to be original-nothing similar to anybody elses(I was a lurker before I joined). D is my first initial. Now that I think about it my user name reminds me of that zippity doo dah song from a movie I watched as a kid.

about the rule breakers. I've noticed the increase as well. (IMO)People who don't have the patience to read a simple set of forum rules won't have the patience to absorb the complexities involved in DVD backup.

My nick, was shown to me in a dream.
The Angel Gabriel came down to me one evening and showed me the light.
I was having a peaceful fuckin sleep and them shepherds dragged my ass off to visit some cretin, in a manger..............................

Man, and because of my complaining, they are now dragging my ass off to the shearers make me cold on the hillside.......

Thank god Jesus was only born once..............

My nick comes from my surname, and what people used to call me on the golf course.........

As for the rule breakers, They really 'pickle my swede', however if it wasn't for them, there would not be lots of threads that make entertaining reading.....

But still, rules are rules and you know there will be users who are just to lazy and ignorant to abide by them, or even read them in the first place.

There has to be tolerance, but some people just take the piss, time and time again........But Praetor weeds them out with his super BOOM!!!!!!!!!

I have been using this nick since the BBS days in the 80s. I think I first used it right after seeing the 1984 World's Fair which had some of the terra cotta warriors from Xian, China. I was starting to spend more time online since I had recently upgraded my 300 baud modem to a blazingly fast 1200 baud so I was joining more boards and needed a nick. I also dated a Costa Rican girl named Xinia, so that might have been an influence as well.

not a fan of christians, eh, baabaa? lol, that's still a relatively entertaining way to come up with a name :) Pop_Smith's methods of shooting the spammers out of the air with his mega-cannon tends to be fun to watch!

fan of the costa ricans, eh, xian? hehehe...

Yep, not a major fan, and also I have nothing against christians or their beliefs (had to write this, because it may have come across a little insulting to christians)

hehe, i don't think too many people were insulted by you, baabaa. For one, no one's reading this thread, and for two, you're a cute little sheep. no one can hold anything against you! :p

yupps, Flip. I knew there was another one of these somewhere, and that's why i added the little thing to insult people who constantly break the rules. I know I'm not perfect, but this has become almost a past-time to me. No threads thus far blend these two topics so well! :)

andmerr, ah creative solutions to an identifiation problem continue to be thought of. i love that rorouni kenshin (spelling?) animation you have!

nice, andmerr...nice.

"We saw the Nephilim there. We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them." Strange. You don't strike me as an avid fan of the bible.

i try. i have cowboy bebop on dvd (don't we all?). I've read several mangas, and I watch the good anime on the only channel that plays it around here: Cartoon Network. I'm hoping to get more into it, but there's not enough time in the day.

Definitely avid, but not in the stereotypical sense. I like a lot of the verses and stories dealing with the darker and stranger side of the Bible. I've absolute faith in a higher power, call Him what you may, which is why I have absolutely no personal use for religion other than reading the scriptures.

The Nephilim were a race of giants who were "born of a union between the Sons of God and the daughters of men". Apparently some of the angels figured out how much fun it is getting nekkid with a woman. Supposedly they were nine feet tall and powerful warriors.

Some theorize that Goliath was a descendant of the Nephilim and other posit that they were actually aliens :)

Mine isn't difficult. For the non-programmers here at AD, the first program that you write in any language is the "Hello, World!" program, where you just print the phrase "Hello, World!" to the screen...and that's it. It's sorta like your test program to see if you can even pull that off before you get into the harder stuff. But that's just a forum handle, I typically go by E-MAN. My 5th grade P.E. teacher called me E-MAN, and it just sticked. Here I am, 9 years later, and my friends and online buddies still refer to me as E-MAN.

My is hard to guess for most kids, but my signiture gives it away. Try a google of the best tv show of all time and you have mine.

andmerr, you have to see the end of Witch hunter robin. An excellent series. Ghost in the shell you must mean the movie. the series isn't done yet. its ok, but nothing great. It might get better latter on. I also watch lots of anime. There used to be a topic thread on that, I don't know were its gone though.
