Hey, what media is better to use for PS2, DVD+R or DVD-R? I only use DVD+R for now, and it seems good although some games load kinda slow (Like GTA VIce City which doesn't always load the textures of buildings/road/etc. fast enough some times). Also, I use Strathfield.com DVD+R...will they damage my PS2 laser in any way? Are they ok disks to use? Thanks for the help...I am a newbie.

I use DVD-R for my p2s copies, and my ps2 has no problem reading them...they load just like the originals. Since +R is the newer format, and less compatible on stand alone players, you might try -R to see what happens. Or possibly you need to clean the lens in your ps2 because it can't read burnt dvds as easily as regular ones. That or something is wrong with your modschip.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

I think that's a bit dated. If you have a standalone purchased back at the beginning of time I would agree BUT any player made within the past 2 and 1/2 years or so, they'll play most anything and if it was made in the last year and 1/2 or so they'll even play RW's.

very true Pete, I was just pointing out that originally they weren't as compatible, but you're right, pretty much all new dvd players are + and - compatible. I was just trying to point out all posibilities for why its not working.
