Which files can be erased to reduce the size of PS2 Games?

Yes, dummy files.

But it is only recommended for play from HD.
These files have a purpose on DVDs, they push the game content to the outer edge of the DVD (where the PS2 can read faster).
Thus if you delete this stuff from DVDs, skipping will probably increase and load times will be longer.

Also most of the time you should not DELETE but SHORTEN this dummy files.

And you can run into problems with many games, who use LBA tables to access the files at specific block adresses on the DVD.

Better also make sure that the files are still in the same order as on the original DVD when you shrink games.

This is only shrinking for HDD by the way, ripping content (rip movies, demos, FMVs) is another matter.

What is your purpose for wanting to reduce the size of the game? Are you having loading problems? What game is it? Be a little more specific.

There is a way to reduce the size of a game without deleted any files. You have to rebuild the image and it gets a little technical.

Give me some more information and I will try to help you.
