Im new to this and want to know a couple things

1. Do i burn the game to a CD or DVD?
2. Is it similar to burning a movie?
3. Can someone send me the link to the best..uncomplicated software.
4. Will that one software work for both Xbox and PS2

1.if the game is cd based then you burn it to cdr, if its dvd based you burn it to dvdr

2. no it's easier

3. try DVD Decrypter for your dvd backups its free and works well all you need to do is go mode>iso>read to create your image then mode>iso>write to burn it to dvdr, you can also use Nero and use the disc to disc copy function, for your cd based backups i suggest you use either clone cd or alcohol 120

4. this method only works for ps2 games to backup xbox games is completly different would suggest you have a read of the xbox forum as it has been answerd there many times how to backup xbox games

also you will need to mod your ps2 to play backup games

Dycripter is what I use with DVD's. I am very familiar with how to burn an ISO.

But how do I turn the video game into an ISO on my computer

I have to put the game through a program don't I to create the ISO

Like what you do with a DVD, you put it through DVD Shrink and it creates an ISO file.

"mode>iso>read to create your image"

oh i get it now...with DVD's you need to remove copy pretections and shrink them and remove heeps of stuff...but with ps2 games..you just burn them like you would a music CD?

I guess all of the copy pretections are in the PS2 itself..but a mod chip fixes that

correct the mod chip gets around the protection and aslong as its just a single layer dvd5 based game you can copy them this way

u need a chip that can play dvd9 media for dual layered discs as well as a dual layered dvd writer. All games over 4.7GB are dual layered. That should help u out.

as stang04 said you can either burn to a dual layer disc if you can boot them and have got a dual layer writer or you can split the game to multi dvd5 single layer discs

Well I just ran it through dycripter...

well I just wanted to know, where egsactly does the ISO file save to?

I found the ISO to the game I burned but that was after I put it through a PC search.

I checked the program file for DVD Dycripter
