ps2 game freezes and skips

I have backed up Madden NFL 2005. The game takes for ever to load. When it does finally loads, it freezes and skips. My ps2 console V7,with the fliptop case and the 2.0 swapmagic DVD disc. My media is Ridata.Could anyone offer any suggestions on how I might fix this problem?

I have made a backup of my Madden NFL 2005 with Ritek G04 media, using DVD Decrypter to burn at 2x. I plays pretty much perfect and I'm using Swap Magic DVD 2.0 on a V7 console. So you might wanna try that route if you're doing something differently.

Here is a reply to both messages. They were burned at 4x Maybe I should slow it down to 1x. If that does not work I'll try the DVD Decrypter.
