theres something new called action replay max evo out, and it says (from the website): "Using the bundled MAX Media Creator software, PC you can now burn a CD-R that will function on any standard PlayStation 2 console ? no need to invalidate your console?s warranty by tinkering with the hardware. This incredible new capability is both easy to use and immensely powerful."

does that mean i can play burned ps2 games?

LOL.

you cannot play a backed up game without modifing your console in some way.

well, is there any way to do it with a gameshark/action replay max evo? but if tha ARME can play movies from a cd-r and load codes from a cd-r, and watch movies from a dvd-r, than how come it isnt able to play games on a cd-r or dvd-r?

All i no is that you can play burned DVD-or+R's

you must modify your console sort of and no ar max and gameshark wont work unless the gameshark is version 2 or lower (not sure about AR).

You can Play Burned DVD or PS2 game with out a mod chip. There is A disk called Swapmagic3 and All you have to do I get two tools to keep your PS2 CD Tray door open then you put the disk in and when it is done loading you pop out that disk and put in your backup dvd or game.

Silveregg, basically your gonna have to make a choice if you want to play PS2 backups. Either SwapMagic - http://www.swapmagic3.com/

Or a ModChip - http://www.mod-chip.com/ (Check out which modchip you prefer)
