Gang-

I've noticed when watching a few DVD back-ups that there is a slight pause that occurs -- seems to happen 4-6 times throughout the movie. What's the cause of this? The media?

I'm using ProDisc 4X DVD-R media. Using Shrink & Decrypter .. Burning at 4x ..

All other output looks great (visually, audio, etc.) -- However, these pauses need to go! :)

Yes it could be the media. I'm not too sure how good Prodisc media is since I have never used it. Try burning one movie at 2x and see if the problem goes away. If yes then its the media. Media of lesser quality sometimes work better at lower burn speeds. I only use Ritek media grade A but Verbatim is another good choice.
