Hi Eazyduzit,

Use DVD Shrink. "File", "Open disc image". Then you can process it and save it to your HD in a VOB file.

Cheers,

Pete

Eazyduzit,

Try using Alcohol. It lets you mount an image onto a "vertual drive". Then you can watch it just like the movie was in your DVD rom. - ADE

DVD Shrink
File > Open Disc Image...
Backup > Target Device > Select backup target: Hard Disk Folder

After it is done you should be able to play it with any software DVD player.

Here is how to play an iso file with nero

1-open nero
2-select play video
3-do not select a drive (of course, your file is on your HD), select play media file
4- You have now a top and a bottow window with a left folder scrolling panel
5- once you select the folder where you iso file is, it will appear on the top window.
6- select it, click ADD and click play

Bingo you can do it in less than 10 seconds.
No need to convert and rewrite the file.
No need to open dvdshrink and recode the file to video files.

Nero can play ISO files and this is cool!!

Hi there RicTheRed,

It's a question of asking the right questions.

Just in case you were wondering why we didn't start off suggesting Nero -

Sometimes we need a new guy to try a less traveled path.
I guess we're too used to presenting the easiest way to solve a problem. You're so very correct, Nero does in fact play ISO's. Nero also costs a minimum of $49.99 (USD) on up to $79.00 if purchased from Ahead. DVD Shrink cost nothing. It was just easier for us old "farts" to recommend something for free instead of questioning Eazyduzit to assertain what programs he had.

I just wanted you to understand why we responded with DVD Shrink instead of something else.

It you who Eazyduzit has to thank for an easy explaination and we who thank you too for showing him a better way to solve his problem :)

Cheers,

Pete

I agree. The shrink tips is good and free.

No worries, being "New" I thought I would take a second out to explain what we did and why - I thought it may help you when you're helping pple.

Another thing to keep in mind - while we're helping pple there are a lot of pple, a lot, reading what we write - I try to explain things simply so that others reading our posts will understand a bit better what we're talking about -

Cheers and - Keep up the good work -

Pete
