Can i use DVD-R media on my dvd burner?

Can somebody tell me if i can use (DVD-R), instead of
(DVD+R), i have two dvd burners (DVD+REWRITABLE), there's a driver?, a firmware update for that?, my burners are TEAC DVD+RW DV-W58E (8x) and NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A (4x), the dvd burners don't recognize the DVD-R

No. I believe you are stuck with +R only.

flwcobra,
If your having compatability issues, look into a bitsetting tool or modified firmware for your NEC so you can format your dvd+r media to dvd-rom. Check here.
