im a newbie to this too but sony cd-r's have always work with my dvd-video backups and they seem to be real high quality. oh and ritek has been said to be very good...that and verbatim has been talked about very much in this forum. ritek also has some real good prices...check out this website http://meritline.com/index.html

Meritline seems expensive to me. They list a 100 pack of tdk 2x dvd-r for $304. I've bought the same exact product in best buy for $100 and at www.buy.com and www.newegg.com for between $90 and $100. It seems like a ripoff to me. Even the highest quality dvd-r should cost $1 a disc or less, not over $3 a disc, that's ridiculous.

Recognition from the Pioneer Class A Lab requires passing more than 100 strict inspections on the product as well as the manufacturing processes. So far, only few DVD-R manufacturers who are capable of passing the various Pioneer examinations are qualified for this recognition. 33 cents a disc sound good?
