Problem burning with my DVD+RW

Hi,

My DVD+RW Drive is a RU DVD+RW Drive, it uses a software called Sonic.
I am having the problem where the software doesn't detect; or when I use my DVD+RW CD to format or to erase it, it always says format or erace failed.

I also was try to burn a music CD, it wouldn't burn one. It did not even detect that it was a burnable CD.

If you tell me how to fix it or if I a driver/update I'd appreciate it.
