Question About HD ADVANCE Please HELP ME!!!!!

ok i know the hd advance comes with 2 disc one for dvd and one for cd but i was wondering if the dvd disc messes up over time or something can i still use the cd disc to copy dvd games to the hard drive i think i remember reading something a while ago saying you could but i cant remember thx ahead of time
