Hi,
I am in the process of buying a DVD recorder (one without a hard drive) (to record tv shows) and I am confused about write speeds. I have looked at blank dvd discs and they have different write speeds (8x, 4x, 2x, 1x) but I do not understand how a dvd recorder can write a disc any faster than 1x as it is recording a television show, you know what I mean? And if in fact the recorder can do that, I can not find out how fast the different DVD recorders each write at, so why isn't this information easily accessible?
I would really appreciate any insight about this stuff. Thank you.
Also, I have to say how much I love these forums! The people who work at Best Buy and Circuit City and the customer service numbers have been really crappy to me so when I found this site recently I was so happy!
