Swap magic CD 3.0 disc help

I'm using these http://www.customps2.com/xcart/catalog/Swap_Magic_32_Boot_Disc_Set_p_11.html
and I have to use a CDLoader to boot my game. And in order to get to the cdloader I have to use my swap magic cd disc. But all it seems to do is make my screen go black, freeze up, or just act crazy. It never shows the screen where it says Insert Disc. Does it matter what video version is select? PAL, Normal, NTSC? I'v tried them all and they all screw up. It's starting to make me pretty darn mad.
